Travel Information
Most events will be taking place within the Canmore, Alberta area.
We recommend flying into Calgary, Alberta, Canada (YYC) because it is the closest airport to the venue area.
Flights
We recommend renting a vehicle to get around, as Canmore is an hour and 15 minute drive from the airport. Calgary International Airport has a rental car center on site and is within walking distance of the terminal. We’d also recommend having a car to travel around if you plan to extend your stay!
There are also transfer companies that could bring you from the airport to Canmore, and back. Feel free to check out Banff Trasnsporter, as they have partnered with some hotels in town.
Transportation to/from the wedding ceremony and reception will be provided. There is no parking at the ceremony. The shuttles will pick up in Canmore (likely in the Spring Creek area), bring guests to the ceremony, then to the reception, and 2 late night shuttles will run non-stop from 10:00pm-2:00am, bringing guests to wherever they prefer (within Canmore).
Getting Around
Accommodation Recommendations
Canmore has plenty of Airbnb/VRBO options to choose from, which will likely end up being less expensive than a hotel room, especially if you’re traveling in a group (we highly recommend this option). Most wedding events will take place in the Canmore area, but the reception will be held in Harvie Heights (about 10 minutes from Canmore and 20 minutes from Banff). Canmore is a larger town, Harvie Heights is mostly just accommodations, but they’re both close to one another. We will provide transportation from Canmore to and from the ceremony. Some Airbnb/VRBOs come with a free National Parks Pass, so keep an eye out for that!

Coast Canmore Hotel
For a generally less expensive hotel option, you can book with the Coast Canmore Hotel. This hotel is in the same general area as the Malcom Hotel, and close to wedding events.
We also have a discount code — for reservations, guests can call 1.800.716.6199 and quote the WED code to request the wedding guestroom rate. Spring Creek Vacations
We also have a 20% discount with Spring Creek Vacations, which is a vacation rental company that offers 1-4 bedroom apartments. These are close to the Malcom Hotel, and close to events, but offers an apartment-style accommodation. These are also available on VRBO/Airbnb, but will likely be less expensive when booking directly (especially with the discount!)

Canmore Hotels
You can also stay in Banff if you would prefer. The ceremony will be within walking distance to the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. However, there will not be transportation provided from the reception venue back to Banff, so that would need to be coordinated on your own! Also worth noting a National Parks Pass is required to enter the town of Banff, per day.

Camping
There are plenty of campgrounds and camping opportunities within the Banff area, which could be an option for the wedding, or also for extending your stay, if you choose to do so! It’s worth noting that campground reservations are required, and typically book up quite far in advance. We’d recommend looking at this website for more information.
You could also rent a camper van, for an easy and comfortable camping experience. We recommend booking through Karma Campervans, which can be picked up in Calgary. Campground reservations are still required.
International Travel Tips
TSA Pre-Check is not a thing in Canada, so upon leaving the county, don’t be surprised if you’re asked to remove your shoes, electronics, etc.
Don’t put any liquids in your carry on if you can avoid it. Canadian TSA will make you put all your liquids in a small bag, and if it doesn’t all fit, you will have to throw it out.
If you have Global Entry, you will be able to skip the customs lines, but the lines aren’t typically that bad.
